Modelling the Dynamic Effects of Transport Improvement on Urban Shape

The paper defines a dynamic growth model based upon the application of the Turing morphogenetic algorithm. The model examines the mutual dependence between transportation cost and population distribution by considering the spatial spillover effects of the variables and the cumulative nature of the growth process. A numerical example of the model depicts how different urban transport improvements can determine effects on spatial growth.
