Geographical Strategies of Information Society in Spain

The Information Society is becoming the reference that defines the different structure of relations derived from the technological and social development. The technologies of Communication and Information Technologies (CIT) are the ones that make possible the change in the economic, social and cultural environment. For that reason, the aim of this paper is to analyse the information society's policies and the strategies linked to them in several autonomous communities in Spain. First, we start showing the actual situation of CIT at three specific regions in order to see the different level of the Information Society penetration. Secondly, we are interested in the role of the public sector in the situation referred above. To reach that goal we analyse the policies implemented in these areas to compare the design, explicitly the instruments, used for the development of Information Society. Finally, we evaluate the results of these policies and its strategies in order to detect the most efficient actions.
