Evaluating the Periphery-Centre Policies in Korea
This paper attempts to analyze the Periphery-Centre policies in Korea and to find out some policy implications which may be beneficial to other countries. Korea has initiated a number of policy instruments to alleviate the regional disparites between the periphery and the centre but without singnificant success. The situation has become markedly worse recently, resulting in a wide range of social, economic and regional problems.
With this background in mind, this paper critically analyzes the periphery-centre policies in Korea and puts forwards some practical ideas and policy measures to address the problems between the periphery and the centre, which can be applicable to other countries.
